Husband, wife arrested in Jammu for alleged links with Amritpal Singh

The Jammu Kashmir police have arrested a Sikh couple from the RS Pura area of Jammu for their alleged links with Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab de. Over 150 people have been arrested in Punjab after the Government launched a major crackdown to detain Amritpal Singh, many of them under the arms act and NSA. The Jammu Kashmir police said that Jammu residents identified as Amrik Singh and his wife namely Paramjit Kour were detained by Jammu Police for their links with Amritpal Singh. After being arrested, the two were handed over to Punjab Police for their alleged links with Papalpreet Singh, a close aide of Amritpal Singh.

A top Pakistani court today extended till March 27 the protective bail granted to former prime minister Imran Khan in five cases related to terrorism after he appeared before a two-member bench here, Press Trust of India reported. The Lahore High Court (LHC) granted the extension of anticipatory bail to Khan after the 70-year-old chief of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf appeared before it amidst tight security. On World Tuberculosis Day, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday said extrapulmonary tuberculosis cases are on the rise in Kashmir hospitals. “We see many patients coming to our hospitals with tuberculosis of brain, spine, intestines, genitourinary tract, heart and lymph nodes,” said DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement issued to GNS. Dr Hassan said tuberculosis commonly affects lungs, but if it affects other parts of the body other than the lung, it is known as extrapulmonary tuberculosis. “The number of undetected extrapulmonary tuberculosis cases in the community could be greater than the number of notified cases,” he said.
