At a time when most of the government schools are performing well, a government school in Kokernag area of Anantnag district has performed below par where just a single student among 25 has passed 8th class examination. A single student out of 25 students of Govt Middle School Khokarpora Adhal Vailoo in Kokernag has passed the 8th class examination. The poor performance of the school has evoked strong resentment from the people. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided an NGO office of jailed Khurram Parvaiz in central Kashmir’s Budgam A team of NIA conducted searches at an NGO office at Dandoosa area in Budgam. 6,875 cases reported at SMHS hospital’s anti-rabies clinic in last one year

A whopping 6,875 bite victims, mostly of dog bites, were reported to the Anti-Rabies Clinic at Srinagar’s Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in last one year. The presence of dogs on every nook and corner has led to man-dog confrontation due to which the number of cases of dog bites has increased in the region, doctors say. About 2,272 water bodies in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are "not in use" due to several reasons including dried up and destroyed beyond repair, Ministry of Jal Shakti census report has revealed. CRPF trooper dies of cardiac arrest in Kulgam

Danishwar Hameed A CRPF trooper died of cardiac arrest in Kulgam district of the Kashmir valley. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a CRPF trooper posted with the 120 BN of CRPF at Nillow Kulgam suffered a cardiac arrest inside the camp. The trooper identified as Raj kishore son of Shankar Dyal Pandey, a resident of Bulili Ballia in Uttar Pradesh was shifted to the nearby hospital. However, the 44 year old was declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital, the official said. He said that after post mortem the body will be taken to Uttar Pradesh and handed over to his family members.
