The body of an abandoned newborn baby boy was found on the banks of river Jehlum in Urdu Bazaar, M.R Gunj area of summer capital Srinagar on Tuesday morning. Local sources said that the body of the newborn boy was found by some locals who subsequently informed the police. They said that a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to SMHS hospital for medico-legal formalities. A police officer confirmed the incident and said cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation is on. (KDC)

Shah Basit On Monday a Kashmiri driver on the way to Jammu died of cardiac arrest at Tikri area of Udhampur on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a driver accompanying the deceased said that Adil Rashid Wani, son of Abdul Rashid Wani suffered a  heart attack at Ramban. He said that Adil was rushed to the nearby Udhampur hospital, however, he succumbed on the way. An unidentified body, seemingly of a non-local, was found in Panzath village of Qazigund in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body was spotted by some locals, who informed the police. A civilian was shot at and injured by unknown gunmen in Marhama area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that militants fired upon a civilian identified as Aqib Ahmad Dar, son of Mohd Ismail Dar of Jafer Pora Marhama. He said that Aqib, who is running a readymade shop in the locality, was shifted to SDH Bijbehara from where he has been referred to GMC Anantnag. The authorities on Monday attached the property of Syed Salahuddin's son in Ram Bagh area of central Kashmir's Srinagar district under UAPA. Noted Islamic activist, Imran Ghazali passed away at his residence in Srinagar on Monday morning. His close aides spoke to The Kashmiriyat over the phone and said that Imran faced a sudden heart attack on Sunday morning at Nowgam area of Srinagar. The 29-year-old was rushed to the nearby hospital, however, he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
