Traffic movement on Boulevard road restricted for two days in wake of G20 event

Authorities on Saturday issued traffic advisory in wake of the upcoming G-20 event at SKICC, here on May 22 and May 23. As per an advisory issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the traffic spokesman said that G-20 meeting related events are scheduled to be held at SKICC on 22nd and 23rd May, 2023 and a large number of delegates from India and abroad are expected to attend. In order to avoid congestion on various routes during the meeting, following route plan, advisory is issued for general public to avoid any inconvenience. The CBI on Saturday filed a charge sheet against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the Pul Bangash case connected to the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom , officials said. Three people were killed and a gurdwara was torched in the Pul Bangash area here on November 1, 1984, a day after the then-prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated. In its charge sheet filed before a special court here, the CBI said Tytler “incited, instigated and provoked the mob assembled at Pul Bangash Gurdwara Azad Market” on November 1, 1984, that resulted in the burning down of the gurdwara and killing of three Sikhs — Thakur Singh, Badal Singh, and Guru Charan Singh. The Jammu Kashmir administration has shut several schools in Srinagar in view of the G20 event in the Kashmir valley. Meer Irfan A massive fire broke out in the Diaroo area in south Kashmir's Shopian district during the intervening night. Locals told The Kashmiriyat said that a residential house belonging to Ghulam Mohammed Lone caught fire due to unknown reasons.
