Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a person accused in sexual Harassment against a girl in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. In a handout to GNS, the police said that, in response to a distressing incident reported on 29th May 2023, involving an act of sexual harassment against a young girl (identity withheld), the police today arrested the accused. The brave victim approached the Soibug Police Post on the aforementioned date at 22:00 hours to file a written complaint detailing the events that unfolded. The spokesman further stated that according to the victim's statement, on 25th May 2023, around 10 AM, she left for her coaching classes in Budgam. Policeman dies after vehicle hits him in Budgam

A police cop died after he was hit by a truck in the Soibugh area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday morning. An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that the cop of armed police identified as Ishfaq Majeed of Paimus Budgam was hit by an LP truck bearing registration no JK015A- 7018 -in Banpora Soibugh and injured critically, when he was riding a motorcycle bearing registration no JK04F-6839 He said that the cop was taken to JVC hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Weatherman on Tuesday forecast light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir till June 2 and advised farmers to suspend all operations during that time. At least ten people have died and 55 were injured after a bus carrying pilgrims to Mata Vaishnoo Devi shrine fell into gorge in Jajjar Koti area of Jammu district on Tuesday morning. Senior Superintendent of police Jammu Chandan Kohil told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the bus was on way to Katra from Amritsar when its driver lost control at a bridge near Jannar Koti and it fell into a gorge. Sheikh Nadeem The body of a local resident was recovered from a rivulet in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday morning, locals found the body of an unknown person near a rivulet in Kadpora area of Anantnag after which they informed the local police. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, the official said. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Amin Dar (55)of Thajiwara Achabal. A man has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in the outskirts of the Anantnag town causing injuries to him. An official told The Kashmiriyat that militants on Monday night shot at one resident of Udhampur in the Ashajipora area of Anantnag town. The man identified as Deepak Kumar (Deepu) has been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. One person dies in Anantnag road accident

Sheikh Nadeem A bike rider died in a road accident in the Achabal area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district after a speedy vehicle hit the bike. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday afternoon, a speedy vehicle hit a two-wheeler in the Achabal area, causing on-the-spot death to the rider. The body of the deceased was shifted to the sun district hospital in Achabal for medico-legal formalities. Officials identified the deceased as Gull Mohd Ganie Son of Ali Mohd Ganie, a resident of Tailwani at Trahpoo Achabal. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance and started an investigation.
