Four injured in gas cylinder blast in Poonch

At least four people sustained injuries in a cylinder explosion in Jammu Kashmir's Poonch on Monday. According to a report, the injured persons were immediately taken to a hospital for their treatment. Later, the doctor informed that out of the four injured persons, three had sustained minor burns while the other was majorly injured. A 45-year-old man was critically injured after being attacked by a bear in Darbal village of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that Mohammad Yousuf Mir of Darbal Langate Handwara was attacked by a black bear when he was working in nearby fields. Soon after the incident, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he has been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment. In another major step to curb militant activities, the Central government has blocked 14 mobile messenger applications being used by militant groups, sources said. It is learnt that these applications were mostly being used by Over Ground Workers of different militant organisations based in Jammu and Kashmir to spread the message and to receive notifications from Pakistan. The action was taken based on intelligence inputs shared with the Central government in a secret communication recently. Two school going boys attacked with a knife outside Ganderbal school

Shah Basit Two school-going boys were stabbed outside their school in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday afternoon unknown persons stabbed two teenagers in the Behama area of Ganderbal resulting in critical injuries to the duo. Aged 14 and 16, the two were rushed to the Ganderbal district hospital from where they have been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. Fire damages residential house in Kupwara village

A residential house was damaged in a fire incident in Lolab area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon. Reports reaching GNS said that a fire broke out in a residential house in Cheepora village of Lolab area belonging to one Abdul Gani Khan, son of Late Gulab Khan. The JK and Ladakh High Court on Monday ruled that the power to transfer an undertrial prisoner from one jail to another only vests with the Magistrate or the Court, Live Law reported. The court or magistrate is the ultimate authority to shift an undertrail prisoner after it has remanded the detenue to a certain prison, and jail authorities cannot have a say in this. 22-year-old youth slips to death in Anantnag area

Suhail Dar A 22 year old youth slipped to death in the Mati Gawran area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a youth identified as Bilal Ahmed Sheri resident of Mati Gawran slipped while he was working as a labour in the Matigawran area. The 22 year old was rushed to the hospital, however, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Death toll in ongoing Sudan clashes rises to 528

Sudan’s death toll from the ongoing clashes between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has risen to 528, according to the Health Ministry on Saturday. A ministry statement said that 4,599 people have also been injured in the violence in the period between April 15 to April 27. The ministry had earlier put the death toll from the ongoing violence at 512 and 4,193 others injured. According to the ministry, 12 out of Sudan’s 18 states have seen clashes between the two warring rivals. Renewed clashes erupted on Saturday between the Sudanese army and RSF fighters despite a 3-day cease-fire.
