Amid Eid celebrations, teenager attacked with a knife in Srinagar

Amid the celebrations of Eid, a teenager has been attacked brutally with a knife in Nowharta area of Srinagar. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday afternoon, a teenager (name withheld) was attacked by another youth from Srinagar with a knife, causing grievous injuries to him. The teenage boy was rushed to the nearby hospital in Rainawari where he is being treated. As per the eyewitness, the boy has been attacked multiple times with a knife on his face, adding that the accused was handed over to the Police by the locals. A truck driver was lynched by a mob in Bihar’s Saran district late on Wednesday night after they found the vehicle was carrying bones of animals to a factory, police said. Truck driver Jaharuddin, 55, of Majhwalia village under Gaura outpost was on the way to Nagara bone dust factory in the district. While on the way to the factory, the vehicle developed a technical problem at Khori Pakad village under Jalalpur police station, and Jaharuddin and his helper and some labourers were trying to fix them. “At the same time, some local residents assembled there and asked them about the materials laden on the truck. In the last five days, three Kashmiri Hajj Pilgrims have breathed their last while performing the holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, reports said. The Kashmiriyat learnt that the deceased include two females and a male pilgrims. They have been identified as Azeema Begum wife of Nooruddin Shah from Sozieth who breathed her last in Mecca on Thursday, Naseema Akhter from Uranhall Anantnag who passed away on 26th June. The male pilgrim has been identified as Jalaluddin Baba, a resident of Safapora Ganderbal.

A youth from Anantnag town passed away at Srinagar Hospital on Wednesday morning. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a youth identified as Umer Ismail, a resident of the Shirpora area in Anantnag town passed away after suffering a brain hemorrhage a few days ago.
