Amid the forecast for hot and humid weather, night temperature settled above normal at most places barring Jammu and Katra where rainfall was recorded along with Gulmarg last evening, officials said on Monday. A meteorological department official said that in the 24 hours till 0830 hours, mostly last evening, Jammu city received 18.9mm of rain, Katra 18.8mm, Kathua 48.6mm, Batote, and Bhaderwah traces while Gulmarg received 9.2mm and Pahalgam traces. Srinagar, 5 other places record season’s hottest day

Several areas across the Kashmir Valley including the summer capital Srinagar recorded the hottest day of the season on Sunday. Data available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reaveals that Srinagar recorded the hottest day of the season at 31.8 degree Celsius. The data further added that Pahalgam, Qazigund, Kupwara and Gulmarg also recorded the hottest day of the season today. In Kupwara, the mercury settled at 31.0 degree Celsius while in Qazigund the mercury settled at 31.6 degree Celsius. As per the data, the mercury settled at 26.6 degree Celsius and 21.5 degree Celsius at famous tourist places, Pahalgam and Gulmarg respectively.
