Amid prediction for mainly dry weather and warmer days, joy has returned to the valley where the farmer community in particular had been hit by constant rainfall. Pertinently, heavy showers and hailstorm at several places deferred the yearly transplantation of paddy in the fields across the Kashmir valley. Paddy is the chief crop of the region. Prayers were held across the Kashmir valley by the farmers and the business community during the past week. Several years ago, Gopal Krishan started a small tea stall in the Jammu city nearly two decades back when Yousuf, a driver from Kashmir introduced drivers from Anantnag to his tea stall. With time, all the drivers developed good connection with Gopal which helped his business flourish. A man was allegedly stabbed by his brother-in-law in Batamaloo area of central Kashmir Srinagar district on Monday. Reports reaching news agency— Kashmir Scroll that during night a man identified as Danish Mushtaq (27) resident of Tengpora Batamaloo was allegedly stabbed by his brother-in-law in Tengpora Batamaloo. The steep rise in the number of stray dogs in the Drabgam area of Rajpora, Pulwama has become a cause of grave concern for the people of the area. The residents of Drabgam told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the “problem” has reached an “alarming point”. They slammed the authorities for “ignoring” the “grave issue”. Every time, the packs of dogs can be seen on roads, threatening the general public, said a local woman. Missing since May 25, Anantnag teenager found dead in Jhelum near Bijbehara

The body of a 17-year-old youth who was missing for the last several days has been recovered from river Jhelum on Sunday. An official said that the body was recovered by a joint team of  SDRF, Revenue and Jammu Kashmir Police in Jhelum near the Bijbehara area of Anantnag. He was identified as Bakir, son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Gadiseer Bijbehara. Earlier, The Kashmiriyat reported that Bakir Bashir, a resident of Gadisera Bijbehara in south Kashmir's Anantnag district has been missing from his home since May 25. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat,  a family member of the 17-year-old youth said that he left his home on Thursday after from home, after which he did not return home.

Two youths have gone missing in Anantnag in south Kashmir along with the scooty. Sehran Bashir and Ubaid Nazir, both residents of south Kashmir's Anantnag district have been missing from their home in Deva colony area of Shirpora in the Anantnag town since June 2. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat,  a family member of the boys said that they left their home on Friday along with the scooty bearing registration number (JK03M 0442 ), after which they did not return home. The family has filed a missing report at the concerned police station and appealed to the general public to help them trace their kin. 05-yr-old boy drowns to death in south Kashmir

A 05-year-old boy drowned to death in Lidder nallah near Rajwas bridge in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Sunday morning. An official told news agency—Kashmir Scroll, that 05-year-old Mohammad Sofiyan Son of Tanzeem Alam slipped into lidder nallah near Rajwas bridge this morning. He said soon after the incident, a police team, along with locals, launched a rescue operation.
