One died, another injured after two vehicles collide head-on in Kupwara

A person died while another was injured after a car and a load carrier collided with each other in the Arampora area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Thursday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) a car and a load carrier collided head-on, resulting in injuries to two persons. He said that soon after the incident, they were rushed to SDH Kupwara, where one of the injured was pronounced dead on arrival. 32 percent men, one percent women consume tobacco in Jammu Kashmir: NHFS-5 data

Around 32 percent men and one percent women consume tobacco in Jammu and Kashmir with cigarettes being the main tobacco product, NHFS-5 data revealed. Official data available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) showed that only 1 percent of women in the age 15-49 group use some form of tobacco. "Tobacco products mostly used by men are cigarettes (27% ), bidis (4%), hookah and cigars or pipe (2% each). The authorities have ordered suspension of vehicular traffic on both sides on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in order to carry out repair and maintenance works in Dhalwas area of Ramban district. The Jammu Kashmir police has arrested a total of 217 drug peddlers in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, Police officials said. The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir is currently carrying out raids at nine different locations in three districts of south Kashmir, an official said on Thursday.
