Meer Irfan A 23-year-old Muazzin (one who recites Adhaan) of Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah (Shah e Hamdan's mosque) in Tral area of south Kashmir breathed his last on Monday morning. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday Owais Ahmed Ganie, a resident of Tral who was riding his two-wheeler met with an accident near the Diver Road area of Pulwama district. Rains lashed parts of Jammu Kashmir, bringing respite from heat wave conditions, even as the weatherman on Monday forecast more precipitation in the next few days. “Generally cloudy weather with intermittent light to moderate rain is expected in Jammu Kashmir during next 24 hours,” a meteorological department official here said. Shah Basit Hours after his sister drowned to death saving him, a 21-year-old youth from Bandipora has lost his battle for survival at a hospital in Srinagar. Minor drowns to death in Bandipora; third incident of the day

In third such incident of the day, a minor drowned to death in Sumbal area of north Kashmir Bandipora district on Sunday afternoon. An official told news agency—Kashmir Scroll that a minor boy drowns to death in Irrigation canal at Zalpora Sumbal. Police seeks public help to trace out missing woman

Police on Sunday sought help from the general public in tracing a 32-year-old woman from the Sopore area of North Kashmir. “Police Station Sopore received an application from one Muhammad Ashraf Kandoo S/O Ghulam Muhammad Kandoo R/O Badambagh Sopore, stating that his daughter namely Ulfat Bashir (32) left her home on 24 June and has not returned back till now,” police said. 45-year-old man’s body found in Kulgam

Danishwar Hameed Locals on Sunday afternoon spotted a semi decomposed body of a man in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday afternoon locals spotted the dead body at Gassirana area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district. They said that the locals informed the Police, who rushed to the spot and took the body into the possession. Upon searching, an Identity card was found from the pocket of the deceased, they said. They said, "the identity card mentioned his name as Fayaz Ahmed Lone, 45, son of Mohammed Abdullah Lone, who is a resident of  Khokharhama in Kulgam." He said that a bike bearing the registration number JK 18 C 7233 has also been recovered from nearby.

Sikh trader shot dead in Peshawar

On Saturday, unidentified motorcyclists shot dead a Sikh trader, identified as Manmohan Singh, in Peshawar’s Kakshal neighbourhood, The Express Tribune reported. The report said that according to SP City Abdul Salam Khalid, the incident occurred at around 8pm when Singh, who was heading home in Guldara Chowk at the time, was targeted by the motorcyclists, leaving him severely wounded.
