46-year-old man arrested for raping minor girl in Srinagar

The Jammu Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man for raping a minor girl in the Safakadal area of Srinagar. An official said that One Mohd Iqbal Sheikh (46 years) presently staying in Pamposh Colony, Srinagar arrested for raping a minor 15 year old girl. He said that the accused is relative of child. In this regard an FIR no 92/2023 has been registered under sections 352,376,506 IPC & 3/4 POCSO act at PS safakadal.

The Supreme Court on Thursday deferred hearing on a plea seeking directions to the Election Commission (EC) and the government for holding immediate Assembly polls in Jammu Kashmir. A youth was injured after stabbed by two men in Rajbagh area of Srinagar district on Wednesday. A senior police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a youth was attacked by two men with a knife near Zero Inn Rajbagh, leaving him injured.
