‘Carried spirit of Kashmir’: International Trade Union Confederation condoles Sampat Prakash’s demise
International Trade Union Confederation has issued a condolence note expressing sorrow over the passing away of Kashmiri activist Sampat Prakash in Srinagar.
Sampat, 86, passed away in Srinagar on Thursday after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
In a press release, Shoya Yoshida, the General Secretary of International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) said, "I offer my heartfelt condolences on the demise of Mr. Sampat Prakash. He was a true champion of the trade union movement, a key figure in the Hind Mazdoor Sabha, and a dedicated advocate for communal harmony. Hailing from the beautiful land of Kashmir, Sampat Prakash carried the spirit of his homeland in his tireless efforts to uplift the working class and foster unity among diverse communities."
