21-year-old youth rapes minor girl in Srinagar

In a shocking incident, the Srinagar Police has arrested a twenty-two year old boy for allegedly raping a minor girl. According to the Police, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by Zaid Feroz of old Barzulla who is said to be the close relative of girl. Srinagar Police in a tweet as per news agency CNI said, “One Accused namely Zaid Feroz of old barzulla, Srinagar aged 22 years arrested for raping a 12 year old child (name withheld). The accused is close relative of victim girl child.” An FIR no 56/2023 under sections 5, 6 of POCSO Act has been registered at Sadar police station and further investigation has been initiated.

Four passengers died and eight others sustained critical injuries in a road accident that took place in Rajouri's Thanamandi area in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Reports reaching news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that an Eeco vehicle carrying passengers fell into a deep gorge on Thanamnadi- Bhangai road at around 2:30 am. “Twelve passengers were travelling in the vehicle when it met with the accident. Meer Irfan The body of a thirty-year-old was found in the Kadgam area of Shopian district in south Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a body was found by the locals in the water body near Kadgam area of south Kashmir after which they informed the Police. The Police reached to the spot and took the body in their possession. Upon investigation, the official said, the deceased was identified as Nasir Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Dobipora area in Shopian. Valley’s public parks and gardens, especially in Srinagar, witnessed a ten-fold increase of visitors – over two lakh people – in the four days of the Eid-ul-Adha festival. A senior official at the Floriculture Department told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during the Eid festival, the valley’s parks and gardens recorded a rush of 2.18 lakh visitors, which is ten times higher than the normal footfall. “During the Eid festival, especially Eid-ul-Adha, people visiting parks and gardens is normal, but this year, the footfall is much higher,” he said.
