Yogi Government to issue dress code for Madrasa students in UP

Over one lakh students studying in 558 government-aided madrasas will soon get uniforms. "Efforts are on to provide them the uniform in July this year,” said chairman UP state Madrasa Education Board, Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Javed. He said, in January this year, two important decisions were taken during the board meeting. The first was to implement NCERT syllabus in a phased manner in madrasas and second was to remove obstacles coming in the way of distributing dresses to madrasa students. At present, each student of state-run schools is getting Rs 1,200 for uniform in the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) account. 22-year-old youth allegedly kills self in Kupwara

A 23-year-old boy on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide at her home in Kakadpati Dever area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a 22-year-old (name withheld), a resident of the Kakadpati Dever Lalpora allegedly committed suicide at his home. "He was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital declared his brought dead,” they said. SC to hear petition regarding conducting assembly elections in Jammu Kashmir

The Supreme Court has listed the hearing for the writ petition regarding the immediate assembly elections in Jammu Kashmir for July 06. The petition filed by former minister and advocate Harsh Dev Singh sought the court’s intervention in restoring the democratic process in the region. The Chief Justice of India will lead the bench hearing the case. Singh expressed concern over the Government of India and the Election Commission of India’s lack of response on the matter, prompting him to approach the country’s highest court. He emphasised that delaying the elections would undermine democracy and contravene the orders of the Supreme Court. The last assembly elections were held in Jammu Kashmir in 2014. The region has been without an elected legislature since 2018.
