Two residential houses damaged in Baghat blaze

Two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in the Rawalpora Baghat Area of Central Kashmir Srinagar district. Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Scroll that two single-story residential houses belonging to Parvaiz Ahmad Dar and Abdul Rashid Dar were damaged in a fire incident in Rawatpora Baghat during the intervening night. They said firefighters along with the help of police and locals doused the flames on time, to avoid any further damage, adding that the cause of the fire was not known immediately. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KS)

Hasnain Masoodi, Member Parliament from south Kashmir’s Anantnag has opposed the bills regarding Jammu Kashmir scheduled to be tabled in the lower house on Wednesday. The Central Government has introduced three bills namely The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, The Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Castes Order, 1956, will also be introduced today in the Lower House. Jammu Kashmir police on Tuesday arrested two ‘fake’ income tax officers in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that one Uzma, a resident of Kujar Kulgam and Abrar Ahmad Thag, a resident of Hazratbal Janglat Mandi entered in the Kokernag Treasury office and pretended as Income Tax officers. The officials at the treasury informed the police and accordingly both were immediately arrested. A police officer confirmed and said that an FIR number 100 of 2023 under section 468, 471 of Indian penal code has been registered and further investigation in this case has been launched. (KDC)

A Muslim man has been arrested after he allegedly killed a rat under his bike and the video of the incident went viral on social media, Muslim Mirror reported. The incident reportedly took place in Mamura Sector 66, Noida, and the accused has been identified as Janul, who runs a Biryani shop in the area.
