Presence of a 'man-eater' bear has created widespread fear psychois in Mawar belt of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. A group of locals told GNS that there have been several incidents of bear attack recently which resulted in the death and injuries to several others. "The worst hit area where the 'man-eater' bear has caused panic and fear is Drangsoo Mawar", they said adding given the recurrent incidents the whole Mawar belt is panicked and even the parents are reluctant to send their wards to educational institutions. Dengue cases are on the rise in Jammu & Kashmir with 144 cases reported this year so far . The State Surveillance Officer, Dr Harjeet Rai told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that this year, 144 cases of dengue have been reported in J&K.
