Day 4: Efforts on to trace army trooper missing in Kulgam, says Police

The Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said that security forces efforts are on to locate the missing soldier of Kulgam. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, the DGP as per news agency Kashmir Scroll said that a case has already been registered against the Kulgam missing soldier and efforts of the police and security agencies are on to locate him. The top officer said we are hopeful to locate the missing soldier at the earliest. Pertinently, An army soldier, Javed Ahmad, a resident of Asthal Kulgam on leave, went missing on Saturday evening.(KS)

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided multiple locations in Kashmir including the residence of Advocate Parvez Imroz in an NGO funding case registered in the year 2020. Sources told Kashmir Dot Com reported that the sleuths of NIA with the assistance of police and CRPF raided multiple locations in Srinagar, Kupwara, Budgam, Pulwama, and Shopian districts of the valley. In Srinagar, The NIA sleuths raided the residence of Zubair Siddiq Dar, son of Mohammad Sadiq Dar at Bonpora Batmaloo and later was brought to PS Batmaloo for questioning. A soldier ended his life by allegedly hanging himself in a washroom at the old Airfield area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Official sources said that a soldier identified as Mahesh Kumar was found dead in the washroom. His colleagues found him hanging with a rope and informed the authorities. The incident occurred at 256 Transit Camp and the deceased was affiliated with 34 Rashtriya Rifles. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. At least four people were killed and several others injured in communal clashes in Haryana, reported Siasat.in. Violence broke out on Monday (July 31) during a procession organised by right-wing group Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Haryana’s Nuh district.
