Court grants 10 days to NIA to place relevant documents in Shabir Shah’s case

Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted 10 days time to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to place on record relevant documents on Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah's plea for regular bail in connection with an alleged terror funding case. Shah's appeal challenges an order passed by a special judge on July 7, which had rejected his bail plea. On Special Public Prosecutor for NIA Akshai Malik asking for 10 days time to file documents, the court granted it time and posted the matter for next hearing on September 22. The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a non-local for supplying banned drugs to the drug peddlers in Srinagar. An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Narla area of Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said . They told a joint of team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area. They said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. Three school-going minor boys have gone missing from Villgam in Handwara area in north Kashmir's Kupwara district since yesterday. The jury panel, which comprises members from Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, and other countries, will have Bilquis representing India. Bilquis, a resident of Khanyar Srinagar is the first Olympic-level women’s kayaking and canoeing player from the Kashmir valley. Bilquis is the only Indian woman to have been appointed as a jury member at the 19th Asian Games. Four persons were been killed after a truck was hit by a boulder in the Sher Bibi in Banihal area of Ramban district.
