India lifts extra taxes on US products including apples, walnuts, and almonds

The Government of India has lifted additional duties on American walnuts, almonds, and apples along with other products. The Ministry of Finance announced the elimination of tariffs on a number of American products, including chickpeas, lentils (masur), apples, walnuts in shells, fresh or dried almonds, as well as shelled almonds, in a notification dated September 5. This notification was issued in light of the G20 Summit, which was held in New Delhi from September 9–10 and was attended by American President Joe Biden. An improvised explosive device (IED) was found in Hanjivera Pattan area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Monday. Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the IED was detected by the police and army. They said bomb disposal squad teams of the Army and police reached at the spot and destroyed it safely. The property worth Rs 56.60 lakh belonging to two notorious drug smugglers identified as Khursheed Ahmad Waza and his wife Posha Begum, a resident of Ward No. 5 Bandipora, was frozen, Police said.
