Meer Irfan A 25-year-old motorcyclist died in a road accident in the Kangan area of south Kashmir Pulwama district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday morning, Aijaz Ahmed Bhat son of Khursheed Ahmed Bhat was hit by a tipper bearing the registration number JK13G 1817 at the Kangan area of Pulwama, causing on-the-spot death to the motorcyclist. They said that the tipper driver fled from the spot after accident. Police has taken cognizance of the incident and started manhunt to nab the accused driver.

Police on Friday arrested two militant associates linked with LeT in the Gudoora area of Pulwama district on Friday and recovered incriminating material from their possession. Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant along with an associate in central Kashmir's Budgam district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday, Police along with 53 RR of the Indian Army arrested a hybrid militant and his associate in the Pakherpora area of Budgam. They identified the hybrid militants as Tanveer Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammed Bhat and his associate as Yawer Ahmed Ganie son of Mohammed Maqbool Ganie, both residents of Chrar e Shareef in Budgam. "Arms and ammunition which includes one pistol, a magazine, nine pistol rounds and other material was recovered from the possession of the duo," they said.

The High Court of Jammu Kashmir quashed the detention of Moulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi and Moulana Mushtaq Veeri under the Pubic Safety Act on Friday afternoon. The court has directed the officials to release the duo who were detained in September last year and later lodged at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.
