Authorities seize 3 private vehicles in Sopore for ferrying passengers

Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Baramulla warned private Eco vehicle owners ferrying passengers without permit of strict action if they continue the practice. An official at the Motor Vehicle Department, Sopore told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a checking drive was launched jointly by the teams from Police and the Motor Vehicles Department Baramulla, during which three vehicles who were ferrying passengers illegally were seized. The vehicles seized were violating the rules and regulations under the MV Acts and were ferrying the passengers without a permit, the official said. A Class 10th student, who was injured after being attacked by the militants on Wednesday evening in the Watrigam Wanihama area of Anantnag district, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday evening at SKIMS, Soura, here. Earlier, the militants fired upon a Class 10th student, identified as Sahil Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Watrigam Dialgam at Wanihama, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag, for treatment, where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment; however, the student lost the battle with life at the institute this evening. A senior police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that an FIR (No. 22/2023) has been registered at the Dachhan Police Station under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, and 120 B of the Indian Penal Code. He said the FIR is against a Rohingya woman named Anwara Begum, along with others involved in the fraud and conspiracy. Bear captured alive in Anantnag

In a successful operation, a wild bear has been captured by the wildlife department in the Nowpora area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that forest department along with the help of locals, managed to capture the bear live in the fields of Nowpora area of Dooru. The bear has now been transported to the nearby forest, and there were no reports of any loss of life during the operation. Man electrocuted to death in Baramulla village

A 30-year-old man got electrocuted to death at his home in Rangwar village in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. Reports reaching the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the man identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Rather (30) son of Ghulam Qadir Rather of Rangwar, received an electric shock at his home today.
