Youth shot at, Injured in Anantnag, shifted to hospital

A student was shot and injured by unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening in Watrigam Wanihama area of Anantnag district. A top police officer told GNS that suspected militants fired upon a youth identified as Sahil Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Watrigam Dialgam a student at Wanihama. He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, he has a bullet injury in his neck. Till this report was being filed his status of condition was not available. 32-year-old woman injured in bear attack in Bandipora

A 32-year-old woman was left injured in a bear attack in Saderkote Payeen village in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, officials said on Tuesday evening. They told GNS that one Dali Bano, 32, daughter of Abdur Rahim Sheikh of SK Payeen was attacked and injured near Sunset Wullar Point. Army on Tuesday said that the anti-militancy operation in Rajouri was being conducted in “different terrain” and efforts are being done to “avoid collateral damage”. So far two Army soldiers were injured in the gunfight with militants whose number is suspected to be 2-3 in Kalakote area of the mountainous district. The gunfight broke out between the militants and the joint team of police and army on Monday evening after a cordon-and-search operation in the woods following information about suspicious movements, the officials said.
