With no forecast of any major wet spell in Kashmir, the weatherman here has predicted foggy weather conditions, saying that the minus temperature has been recorded at multiple places in the higher reaches of Kashmir. Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director Meteorological department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that no significant change in the weather conditions are expected in Jammu & Kashmir. Five local militants killed in Kulgam encounter, four likely from Shopian

Five militants were killed during the encounter that started on Thursday between militants and government forces in the Samnoo area of Kulgam. The encounter that continued overnight ended with the killing of five militants who are yet to be identified, officials said. Unnecessary’ referrals from district hospitals continue to crowd tertiary care hospitals

‘Unnecessary’ referral of patients from districts continue to put a burden on men and machinery at the tertiary-care hospitals, doctors said. They said that despite repeated directives from the government including the latest on November 15, the referrals go unchecked. “We receive dozens of patients on a daily basis who can be managed at sub-district and district hospitals easily but they are being referred here,” said a doctor at SMHS Hospital.
