A student from Malangam village in North Kashmir's Bandipora district has etched her name in the Women's cricket team of Kashmir University after qualifying trials conducted by the Varsity. Masrat stands out as the lone player from Hassan Khoyhamia Degree College Bandipora among the ten women cricket team players who underwent trials. 20,126 Pashmina Shawls, 9,700 carpets issued GI tags so far

Jammu and Kashmir administration has achieved a milestone by issuing Geographic Indication labels to over 20,000 Pashmina shawls and 9000 carpets so far. Kashmir’s Pashmina shawls and carpet got GI tags in the years 2021 and 2022, respectively, to fight counter-branding. As per the data accessed by news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), till October, a total of 20,126 Pashmina Shawls have been issued GI labels. During the same period as many as 9,700 carpets have been also GI Tag labelled. On World Pneumonia Day, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Sunday said the pneumococcal vaccine reduces the risk of dying from pneumonia. “Pneumococcal vaccine prevents pneumonia deaths,” said influenza expert and DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan. Quoting a study, Dr Hassan said the pneumococcal vaccine was found to reduce the risk of death from pneumonia by 59% among elderly people. “The study also revealed that vaccine reduces the risk of getting pneumonia by 45%,” he said. The military source mentioned missiles passing through Lebanon's Baalbek region without specifying the targeted sites. Israel has a history of attacking military locations in Syria since the war started by ISIL began in 2011. The strikes are suspected to have hit a Syrian army air defense base and a radar station in Tel Qulaib and Tel Maseeh in the Sweida province in southwestern Syria, according to two defectors from the Syrian military. A resident near Shahba in Sweida province observed red flames in the distance, accompanied by the sound of ambulances rushing to the scene.
