Burglars loot nearly 4 lakhs from ATM in Kulgam area

Danishwar Hameed Burglars damaged a machine and decamped with cash of nearly 4 lakh rupees from a Bank ATM in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning, locals spotted an ATM machine of HDFC Bank has been looted by unknown burglars in the Kawaki bazar area of Quimoh in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. They said that cash worth 3,96,900 had been stolen from the machine by burglars who successfully managed to flee from the spot. They said that the Police has rushed to the spot.

Danishwar Hameed A plastic recycling factory was gutted during an overnight fire in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, flames emerged from the plastic recycling factory in the Gadhama area of Kulgam. Fire tenders and locals rushed to the spot, however, a massive damage was caused to the factory during the fire incident. The factory owned by Tariq Ahmad Ganie, a local resident. Tariq, the owner was recently in news for the eco-friendly that turned the waste into a lucrative business.

Expert advises diabetics to monitor diet during Ramadhan Sehri for fluid balance

People, especially those who are diabetic, need to limit the intake of salty, sugary and spicy food during Sehri (pre-dawn) meals in Ramadan to maintain fluid balance in the body, a noted endocrinologist said. Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr Shariq Masoodi said that people, particularly those with diabetes, should control their consumption of sugar, salt and spices in their meals. “The sodium present in foods aids in maintaining fluid balance, but excessive intake of salty, sugary, and spicy foods can lead to increased thirst as water is withdrawn from the cells,” he said. The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, unveiled the timetable for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections during a press briefing in New Delhi on Saturday. The 2024 Lok Sabha election will take place over seven phases, starting on April 19 and concluding with the final phase on June 1. Counting of votes will occur on June 4.
