One militant has been killed during the encounter in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that one militant has been killed after an encounter broke out in wee hours between militants and security forces in Frasipora area of the south Kashmir  district on Thursday. As per sources the slain has been identified as Danish Aijaz Sheikh son of Aijaz Ahmad Shiekh, a resident of Alnoor cony Ellahibagh which comes under the jurisdiction of Ahmadnagar, Srinagar. National Conference chief and former chief minister of Jammu Kashmir on Wednesday said that Muslim governments are silent despite people being killed in Palestine. The NC Chief after offering Eid-ul-Fitr namaz at Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar while speaking to media persons said that whether it is our country or Palestine, Muslims are facing difficult times "May Allah have mercy on Muslims. A group of Muslims was allegedly attacked when they were on the way to offer Eid prayers in the Rajouri districts of Jammu Kashmir. Shawwal crescent has been sighted in several parts by Ruet e Hilal Committee- a body responsible for the monthly moon sighting. The Committee has said that Eid ul Fitr will be observed on Wednesday. Earlier, Ladakh also decided that Eid will be observed in the region on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Muslims in Delhi will be celebrating Eid on Thursday. Saudi Arab has sighted the moon and shall be observing Eid ul Fitr on Wednesday. Several European and Asian countries will also be celebrating eid on the same day.

Danishwar Hameed A man from Kulgam passed away during the 8th day of his Itikaaf in a mosque in south Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Ghulam Mohammed Itoo son of Mohammed Shaban Itoo who was on Itikaaf at Bonpora mosque in Kulgam fell unconscious after which he was rushed to the hospital. The 65-year-old breathed his last at the hospital. Itikaaf, in Islam, involves dedicating a set number of days to reside within a mosque, focusing solely on worship and abstaining from worldly matters. Etymologically, it denotes adherence and consistency in devotion.

After a gap of several years, Eid ul Fitr prayers will be held at Eidgah of Anantnag. Earlier the Jamia Masjid committee of Anantnag had said that Eid prayers will be held at the Eid Gah, Janglat Mandi at 9 A.M, however, the admin has issued an order stating that the prayer timings have been reversed to 8 A.M. Days after an FIR was registered over alleged forced conversion, J-K Waqf Board has relieved the cleric of Hazratbal shrine and constituted an enquiry committee to probe his role, UNI reported. On Jumat-ul-Vida- the last Friday of Ramazan, a video showed a non-local converting to Islam and reciting Kalima at Srinagar’s Hazratbal shrine. Police registered an FIR the same day under various sections at Nigeen police station alleging that a Srinagar resident forced the non local who was his domestic help to convert to Islam. With Eid-ul-Fitr around the corner, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Ravinder Pal Singh on Tuesday directed all Dy.SPs and Divisional Transportation Inspectors (DTIs) across Kashmir to establish special checkpoints in order to curb the bike stunts on the festival. R P Singh while talking to the news agency CNS said that the decision to put up special checkpoints in Kashmir was taken as there is a high likelihood of a spree of bike stunts to be seen on the occasion of Eid. “Therefore, we have directed all Dy.
