Jaundice outbreak Dangerpora Padgampora area of Pulwama

An outbreak of jaundice in Dangerpora Padgampora village in Awantipora hamlet of south Kashmir's Pulwama district has raised concerns as four children have tested positive, while many others are having symptoms of the disease. A health official informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the screening process is underway, and four cases out of 35 have been confirmed positive for jaundice. He said that medical teams along with Asha have been carrying door to door awareness campaign to educate people how to keep themselves safe. They have been guiding them to use boiled water and use vegetables and fruits after washing them properly. The Jammu Kashmir Apni Party has decided to field two candidates to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the Anantnag-Rajouri and Srinagar segments. During a press conference held in Srinagar, Dilawar Mir, Chairman of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee, announced on behalf of the party that Zaffar Iqbal Manhas would be the candidate for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat, while Mohammad Ashraf Mir would contest from Srinagar. Previously, the National Conference had announced Mian Altaf and the DPAP had announced Ghulam Nabi Azad as their respective candidates for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat. It is noteworthy that the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party is the first political party to announce its candidate for the Srinagar seat.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday announced a reward on Atiq Ahmed’s sister Ayesha Noori and Zainab Fatima, wife of his brother Ashraf. The Prayagraj Commissionerate Police placed the reward of Rs 25,000 each on both of them. Both of them are accused in the Umesh Pal murder case that took place in February 2023 in Prayagraj.
