Nearly 17.5 lakh electorates to cast their ballot across Baramulla Lok Sabha seat tomorrow

Around 17,37,865 electorates would be casting their ballot in 2,103 polling stations established across the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency during 5th phase of ongoing Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held on May 20. “These total 17,37,865 lakh voters enrolled in the phase V included 8,75,831 male and 8,62,000 female voters besides 34 third gender electorates. There are around 17128 Persons with Disability and 527 persons above the age of 100 years who will be exercising their franchise”, read a communiqué received from office of Chief Electoral Officer, J&K. Young man dies of cardiac arrest in Anantnag

Suhail Dar A young trader died of a cardiac arrest in the Anantnag town of south Kashmir late on Saturday. Family members told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday night, Tanveer Ahmad Zargar, a resident of SK Colony suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital, however, he had succumbed on the way. Hundreds of people from the town participated in his funeral prayers which was held at old Janaza ground in Sherbagh Anantnag. According to studies dating back to 2023, heart attack deaths have increased by 30 per cent in the age group 25 to 44 after COVID 19.

Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Rakesh Magotra in a communiqué to the CEOs said that it will transfer the funds through DBT mode into the accounts of students from first primary to 8th class of government schools for free uniforms under Samagra Shiksha for the year 2024-25. The RTE Act mandates free and compulsory education for all children in government schools. The Scheme provides two sets of uniform to all girls, SC, ST and Below Poverty Line (BPL) boys at an average cost of Rs 600 per child per annum.
