Speedy vehicle crushes 60 sheep to death, injures two shepherds

Danishwar Hameed A speedy vehicle has crushed 60 sheep to death, and leaving 40 others injured in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that a flock of sheep were hit by a speedy tempo bearing the number JK01U 2108 near Khudwani on the national highway late on Friday night. They said that in the incident at least 60 sheep lost their lives while 40 more were injured. He said that two members of the flock owners were also injured in the incident who have been hospitalized. He said that police have taken cognizance of the incident by registering FIR and driver has been arrested while further investigation has been taken up. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday morning, a dumper bearing the number JK04E 1678 came in contact with after a High-Tension wire in Kulgam's Kouserbal area. They said that the deceased was identified as Showkat Ahmad Parray, a dumper driver from Tahab, Pulwama. The accident resulted in his immediate demise.
