One dead, 19 injured in two road accidents in Kashmir

Rayees Shah One person died and nineteen others suffered injuries during two seperate road accidents in the Kashmir valley on Thursday morning. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that at Pampore town of south Kashmir,  one person died while fifteen others were injured when the vehicle they were onboard met with an accident. Locals of the area rushed to the spot and rescued all the persons who were on the way to Srinagar from Jammu. In a separate road accident, four persons suffered injuries including a tourist in Kangan area of Center Kashmir's Ganderbal District on Thursday morning. Baramulla driver dound dead inside truck in Samba

A young driver from north Kashmir's Baramulla district was found dead inside his truck in Samba district on Thursday morning. Sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the deceased driver was identified as Farooq Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Dangiwacha Baramulla. He was discovered inside his truck bearing registration number JK05E 9615, in the Nud area of Samba this morning. Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital,where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. A family also confirmed this unfortunate incident to the News Agency Kashmir Scroll and said that they are on their way to take the body of the deceased home for last rites. (KS)

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to student activist Sharjeel Imam in connection with a 2020 communal riots case involving allegations of sedition and unlawful activities. Rayees Shah A tragic incident occurred in Kupwara, where two individuals were found dead and three others were hospitalized after falling into a well. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday,  five persons fell into a well while cleaning it in Satboin Dardpora area of Kupwara. As the news spread, locals rushed to spot and a rescue operation was swiftly launched. Despite strenuous efforts, two of the individuals, identified as Farid Ahmad Khoja and Bashir Ahmad Khoja, were declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital. The remaining three, Qasim ud Din,Abdul Hameed, and Safeer Ahmad are currently undergoing medical treatment.

Two men fell into a well while trying to rescue a man who accidentally slipped into it in Khansahib area of central Kashmir's Budgam district on Wednesday afternoon, officials said. An official told news agency—Kashmir news Observer (KNO) that the man identified as Moomin Dar accidentally fell into the well and soon after locals tried to rescue him. He said during the rescue operation two more individuals fell into it. “As the news spread in the area, locals and administration reached to the spot ans launched a massive rescue operation,” he said. Those who fell into the well have been identified as Amjid Ali and Gulam Hassan Wani—both residents of Gotipora Khansahib.
