Kashmiri student from Budgam allegedly commits suicide at his PG in Bengaluru

A 21-year-old Kashmiri student was found dead at his paying guest in Karnataka's Bengaluru on Sunday. The incident occurred in Northeastern Bengaluru's Yalahanka, following which the police rushed to the spot and shifted the youth to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later sent for a post-mortem and the information was passed to the family. The deceased, identified as Tanveer, a second-year BSc student at REVA University and a native of Kashmir's Budgam district, was found hanging in his room in the morning, according to the police, who have also discovered a suicide note, in which the deceased held no one responsible for his extreme step. Suhail Dar A 12-year-old boy was killed in a road accident in Akura Mattan, Anantnag district, South Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the boy, identified as Faisal Ahmad Wagay son of Javid Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Akura was hit by a tractor on Sunday afternoon. Faisal was initially taken to PHC Mattan in critical condition and later referred to GMC Anantnag. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced a significant change in school timings for Schools in the Kashmir Division. The new timings, which will come into effect from August 12, 2024, have been officially communicated through an order issued on August 10, 2024, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat. According to the directive, schools within the Srinagar Municipal limits will now operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
