Five encounters in the first five days of November have been reported in Kashmir Valley. The data available with the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that these 5 gunfights in 5 days of November broke out in various locations, including Srinagar's Khanyar, Bandipora's Penner area and Ketsun forests, Lolab in Kupwara, and Shangus Anantnag forest area. At least five militants - all non-locals, were killed in these encounters Besides these 5 encounters, there was a grenade attack in Srinagar and an attack on migrant workers in the Mazhom area of Budgam district in the first 5 days of November. Member of Parliament from Srinagar constituency, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi on Wednesday said that the government led by Omar Abdullah has fulfilled its promises on moving the resolution on special status on the first day of business in the J-K Legislative Assembly. One unidentified militant has been killed in an overnight gunfight in Lolab Forests in North Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday. Official sources told GNS that one militant has been killed in an operation which commenced yesterday late evening. The operation in the area is still underway. On Tuesday late evening, a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Lolab Forests after receiving a specific input about presence of some militants.(GNS)

An unidentified militant was killed, while two government force personnel were injured during an ongoing encounter in the Ketsun Forest area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora. A top police officer told NVI that one unidentified terrorist had been killed, and two security personnel were injured in Ketsun Forest.
