In a tragic incident, a mother and her two children were killed in a midnight blaze in Badhat Drabshalla area of Kishtwar . Officials told GNS that fire broke out late night in the house of Khurshid Ahmad in Jashar hamlet of Badhat. When fire erupted from one of the room, mother and her two children were sleeping and due to intense flames, they were unable to escape from the house. In this incident both Mother and her children were killed in this devastating fire. Police, fire tenders and locals tried their best to rescue the victims. Four Army personnel were injured on Sunday in a gunfight with militants holed up in a remote forest area in Jammu Kashmir's Kishtwar district, officials said, amid an intensified hunt following the recent killing of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs). The encounter broke out around 11 am when joint search parties of the Army and police intercepted the terrorists in the Keshwan forest, a few kilometres from the spot where the bullet-riddled bodies of VDGs Nazir Ahmad and Kuldeep Kumar were found. Responding to thousands of students seeking age relaxation the Jammu Kashmir government  has relaxed the upper age limit of candidates for the Combined Competitive Examination-2024. In a notification, of which a copy is available with The Kashmiriyat, the upper age limit for open merit candidates has been changed to 35, while for reserved category and in-service candidates and physically challenged candidates has been changed to 37 and 38 years respectively. Administration in Kishtwar has invoked the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) against five individuals in the district citing their history of anti-national activities. An encounter has broken out in Ishbar area of Nishat in Srinagar district of central Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning an encounter broke out between militants and government forces in the Ishbar area of Srinagar district. The encounter, reports said, begun when government forces came under heavy fire from the side of militants, to which the forces retaliated.
