Three persons were injured when an old dry Chinar tree fell down on them at Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the incident took place at Noorbagh area of Sopore where an old dry Chinar tree suddenly fell on people causing injuries to three people and one among them was rushed to Sub-district hospital in Sopore for advanced treatment.
Pertinently the locals in Sopore had approached the authorities to cut down the old dry chinars in the North Kashmir town as a precautionary measure but nothing has been done on ground level as department seems to be not interested.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ashiq Hussian Lily told The Kashmiriyat that the issue has come to their notice and they have sent an application to higher ups.
” We will ensure that the dry trees are soon cut, before any major tragedy occurs,” he said.
