Three militants have been killed while the fourth one surrendered during an encounter that raged between government forces and militants at Kanigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.
An official confirming the development to The Kashmiriyat said that the Indian Armys 44 RR Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF Jointly laid a siege in the Kanigam shopian area.
He said that the search was laid around a cluster of houses following an input about Militant movement in the area, during which the hiding militants opened fire upon the joint forces.
The joint forces retaliated, he said, adding, three unidentified militants were killed during the exchange of gunfire, while the seatch operation in the area if still going on.

He said that one militant surrendered.
Meanwhile Internet services have been snapped in the Shopian district.
