Three Militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and Government forces in the Vailoo area of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official confirming the exchange of gunfire said that a joint team of Government Forces including Indian Army’s 19 RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a Cordon and search operation (CASO)following inputs about militant presence in the Vailoo area of Anantnag.
As soon as the forces moved closer to the suspected spot, the Militants opened fire, to which the forces retaliated, the official said.
Three Militants have been killed during the exchange of gunfire, who are yet to be identified.
As per the latest reports, the search operation is still going on.
