One person died during a road accident in the Shurat area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday afternoon.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that an overspeeding Scorpio vehicle rammed into a two-wheeler (scooty) in the Shurath area, causing grievous injuries to the scooty rider.
The man identified as Jahangeer Ahmad Dar son of Mohammed Shaban Dar aged 35, who was a resident of the Shurath area in Kulgam succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, he said.
“The driver of the Scorpio vehicle managed to escape from the spot, but the search to trace the driver is on,” the official added.
