An Indian Army Major and three soldiers were killed in a gunfight with Militant in Gurez Sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District.
Reports suggest that Army intercepted a group of eight infiltrators who were trying to cross from Gurez in north Kashmir.
The infiltration bid was foiled and two Militants have also been shot dead, they said.
The killed troopers have been identified as Major KP Rane, Havaldar Jamie Singh, Havaldar Vikramjeet and Rifleman Mandeep from Indian Army’s 36 RR.
