
With the world’s eyes dotted on elections in Kashmir, a brisk polling is being recorded across Kashmir and Jammu divisions on Wednesday.
The assembly polls happening after a hiatus of ten years in the region have recorded a voter percentage of 58.19 per cent till 5 P.M.
As per officials who spoke to The Kashmiriyat the two assembly segments in Shopian have recorded a voter turnout of 53.68 per cent.
“The voting percentage at Zainapora AC upto 5: 00 PM stand at 52.64 % while as 54.72 per cent voters have cast their ballots in Shopian assembly segment,” the official said.
In Anantnag, the voter turnout is 54.17%, while in Doda, it stands at 69.33%. Kishtwar has the highest turnout at 77.23%, followed by Kulgam with 59.62%. Pulwama has a turnout of 43.87%, and Ramban’s turnout is 67.71%, the official told The Kashmiriyat.
