580 KGs of Poppy Straw Recovered in Anantnag

The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed that they have achieved great success in the ongoing war against drugs.

In a press release, the Police in Anantnag said that they along with arresting two drug peddlers also recovered a huge quantity of drugs from them.

They said that the police station in Bijbehara received a specific information through reliable sources that Ali Mohammad Reshi, a resident of Waghama Bijbehara, has stored a large amount of Fukki in his house.

The police already had information that Mohammad Yusuf was involved in drug peddling.

As soon as the information was received, SDPO Bijbehara, SHO Bijbehara along with their team raided the house of Mohammad Yusuf. When the police team searched the house, 27 sacks were found in a secret room built on the premises.

The Police has said that 580 kg of Fukki was recovered from the house.

During the raid, the owner of the house Mohammad Yusuf Reshi escaped from the spot while his two sons Zahid Ahmed Reshi and Amir Ahmed Reshi were arrested by the police on the spot.

A case has been registered in this regard at Bijbehara police station and further investigation is on.
