The government is claiming that Kashmiri youth recruitment in militant organizations has reduced. In the first fortnight of July, nine youths from the Valley have been involved in joining various militant organizations. Not only this, the families of these two youths have also appealed to the boys on social media to return home, Daily Jagran reported.
According to the police, 67 boys have joined the militant ranks in the first six months of the current year.
Related sources said that out of the 9 militants in the first 15 days of July, 8 are residents of South Kashmir. One hails from Bandipora district in North Kashmir. It is not known what militant organisation has the Bandipora boy joined, of the other 8 boys, 3 are associated with Al-Badr Mujahideen.
Of the five other boys from South Kashmir, two are admitted to Hizbul Mujahideen, two to Lashkar and Jaish-e-Mohammed. However, the police have not officially confirmed that these youths have become militants.

A video of the family of Shoaib Shafi Butt of Churusu Awantipora in South Kashmir has gone viral on social media, in which the family is appealing to him to return home. Shoaib Shafi was paramedical student. His age is stated to be 21 years.
Local sources said that most of the missing boys in July belong to educated and middle-class families. The police have also lodged a report of his disappearance, but no clue of any is being found. Police officers confess that they have all become militants.
67 local boys have joined militancy in this year. 24 of them have been killed. Contrary to the police, many others claim that till June the number of militants was above 80.
The relatives of many boys do not even reach the police because they want to quietly bring them home from militant organizations at their level.
Talking to media persons, an official said that the police have kept silence on the 9 boys who became terrorists in July.
A few days ago, the incident of missing a youth from Natipora area of Srinagar has come to light, but the police has maintained silence on it till date.
