A Total of eight Militants have been killed in the day in Kashmir in three separate gunfights that raged in Sopore (Baramulla), Keran (Kupwara) and kakriyal (Jammu).
Three militants have killed in an ongoing encounter along the Line of Control (LoC) on Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Officials said that 3 JAK Rifles at Balbir post near Datgali in Keran intercepted a group of militants at around 10:40 on the Thursday morning, the militant opened fire, triggering a gunfight.
In the gunfight, three Militants were killed and a search operation in the area is ongoing.
Two Militants were killed during a gunfight at Teleyan in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla District on Thursday.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the 22 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 179 BN CRPF had laid down the Search operation jointly.
The Militants present in the area opened fire upon the troopers conducting a search operation in the area, triggering a gunfight, in the ensuing gunfight two foreign Militants were killed.
In anonter encounter, Three Militants affiliated with Jaish e Muhammad were killed in the Gunfight Kakriyal region in jammu on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Thursday and CRPF troopers injured.
At least nine Government Force personnel identified as Mohammad Iqbal, Bhanu Partap Singh, Haresh Pal Singh , Pancham Singh, Abhav Singh, Manoj Kumar and Zakir Hussain were injured in the attack.
The Militants upon being intercepted by Forces on Wednesday had opened fire upon forces and escaped from the spot after which the Army intensified search operations in all the areas falling along the National Highway.
When the forces were conducting search operations in Kakriyal area near MataVaishno Devi University, the holed up Militants opened fire on Forces, triggering a gunfight in which three Jaish e Muhammad Militants were killed. (The Kashmiriyat)
