Eight shops were gutted in a massive blaze in the Jhelum market area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday evening.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that the fire broke out from a mobile shop and then spread to other adjacent shops, causing damage to at least eight shops.
As soon as the fire emerged, the locals along with Police and Fire services rushed to the spot trying to douse off the flames.
The official said that after hours of hectic efforts the fire was brought under control.
