And amidst all this comes the news that 60 of the 61 returnees from Kumbh in MP, have tested positive for Covid-19, when it was already feared that the Kumbh mela could be the super spreader of the deadly virus.
Since various images of large gatherings at the Kumbh had emerged, where the Covid protocol was visible broken, various state had imposed certain restrictions on these returnees. The Delhi government, for example had asked the returnees to strictly quarantine themselves for 14 days. And the Gujarat government on the other hand, had made the RT-PCR tests compulsory for them.
India has reported a total of 3,68,147 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, with 3,417 deaths reported in the past twenty four hours.
