Dead body of second missing nomad sibling recovered in Veshaw river, One still missing

The body of the second missing nomad sibling was recovered from the Veshaw Nallah in the Mah area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday morning, according to officials.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Showkat, son of Mohammad Sadiq Bajad from Chandian Pajan in Qazigund. The body was discovered after a thorough search operation in the area.

An official confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that after completing all the necessary legal and medical procedures, the body will be handed over to the family for the last rites.

The missing trio, who are nomadic laborers, had been unaccounted for since last month. Two of the siblings’ bodies have now been recovered, while one remains missing. The three men originally hail from Chita Danda Panglar in Rajouri district and had been working as laborers in the Kulgam area for the past six years.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the third missing person.
