Srinagar based foundation distributes street Iftar kits

Ehsaas Foundation, a Srinagar-based volunteer group on Friday distributed Iftar kits in several areas of Srinagar.

The Iftar packages consist of dates, fruits, and water for individuals stranded outside their homes while fasting, especially for those below Below Poverty Line (BPL). 

Zahoor Ahmad, the chairman of Ehsaas Foundation, speaking to The Kashmiriyat highlighted the goals of the foundation to distribute hampers for Eid.

“Around a hundred families have been shortlisted already for the Eid hampers. These people are mainly outside hospitals, junctions, or on the roads and consist of primarily economically weaker families. The aim is to include non-veg, paneer, and bakery for them,” he said.

For the last two years, the foundation has also been collecting aid for fire-stricken families, including Warwan, and Kupwara where trucks containing aid were distributed.
