
After Budgam, Police in Baramulla have registered an FIR against individuals accused of promoting militancy by displaying certain flags and raising slogans during a procession in Chainabal, Pattan.
According to a press release from the Police Media Cell Baramulla, the case (FIR No. 49/2025) was filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act). Police stated that “some individuals were seen carrying flags, placards, and banners featuring photographs of the slain commander.”
The statement further alleged that the participants “were also heard raising slogans,” which authorities claim was “with the intent to incite the general public and encourage elements associated with terrorist organizations to engage in subversive activities.”
An investigation has been launched, with authorities assuring “swift action against those found involved in activities that threaten peace and stability in the region.”
Police have urged the public to cooperate and “report any suspicious activities that may compromise national security.”
