Chambgund to Bridge Road in Poor Condition, Locals Appeal for Immediate Macadamization

The road stretch from Chambgund to Bridge in Kulgam district is in a dilapidated condition, causing serious inconvenience to commuters and residents of the area. The uneven surface, potholes, and lack of proper maintenance have made travel difficult, especially for school-going children and the elderly.

Local residents have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and the Executive Engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Division to take immediate steps to macadamize the road. They stressed that the road is a vital link for daily movement and transportation.

When contacted, Executive Engineer R&B, Er. Shabir Ahmad Tak, confirmed that the department is aware of the issue. “We have already included this road in this year’s plan, and it will be macadamized during the current year,” he assured.

Residents expressed hope that the promised work will begin soon and alleviate the persistent difficulties they face due to the damaged road.
