An Encounter started between militants and Government forces in Dangerpora area of Kelam in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 9 RR of Indian Army, 18 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police were fired upon by Militants during a cordon and search operation in the area.
Immediately the troops cordoned off the area during which the holed up Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat three to five militants are trapped in a residential house in the area.
A heavy exchange of fire was going on when this report being filed.
Firing stopped early morning, but locals are being disallowed to come out of their houses, A local from Kelam told The Kashmiriyat,
He said that two houses have suffered damage during the encounter.
Meanwhile mobile internet services have been snapped in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir.

9:45 am: Search Ops are still on, two Militants have been reportedly killed in the encounter.
9:50 am: As per Sources one of the slain Militant is Idris Bhat, a resident of Arwani in Islamabad (anantnag).
