Iran has executed agents of Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, amid heightened regional tensions following direct military exchanges between the two countries. One of the executed was identified as Esmail Fekri, according to Iran’s Fars News Agency. This marks the third execution in recent weeks tied to espionage charges on behalf of Israel.
As Iran escalates its internal crackdown, Israeli cities came under heavy missile fire on Sunday night in one of the most intense barrages in recent weeks. The Jerusalem Post and Times of Israel reported that at least eight people were killed and over 300 injured across northern and central Israel.
In the northern city of Haifa, Mayor Yona Yahav confirmed the deaths of three individuals in a missile strike. Speaking to Channel 12, Yahav said the victims were working at a facility “we would be happy if it closed and left,” hinting at its strategic nature. Rescue operations had continued for hours before their bodies were recovered from the rubble.
The Israeli Health Ministry said a total of 287 people were hospitalized overnight, with one in serious condition and 14 moderately injured. Two children were among the wounded, currently being treated at Schneider Children’s Hospital in Petah Tikvah. Another fatality occurred in Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv, where a missile strike claimed one life and injured several others.
Meanwhile, Israel’s National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi warned that Iran still possesses “thousands of ballistic missiles,” far exceeding earlier estimates of 1,500–2,000. Speaking to Army Radio, Hanegbi emphasized that the current conflict “will not bring an end to the Iranian threat” and cautioned that Tehran’s missile arsenal remains a serious concern.
